Cheryl’s Blanket

 

This is the blanket I made for Cheryl while I was in Seattle.  Working on it in my spare time,  it took 11 days to make.  I used Red Heart (no dye lot) yarn-2 skeins purple, one skein white and 2 skeins pink.  The border is 3 rows of single crochet.

This is a basic textured stitch. 

To start, chain an even number of stitches. 

Row 1 -Single crochet in second chain from hook and in each chain across.

Row 2-Chain 1, turn, single crochet in first single, then (treble crochet in next single crochet, single crochet in next single crochet) across.

Row 3-Chain 1, turn, single crochet in each stitch across.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 for pattern to desired length.

TO WORK TREBLE CROCHET: yarn over twice & insert hook in single crochet,  yarn over & pull up a loop (4 loops on hook) then (yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook)  3 times
